Night - Final post

What is your duty as a citizen of the United States to prevent something like this from happening in your country? People fight and die everyday for the right to have a voice like the one you have, I want you to write me a response saying how you understand how important it is.

Night - post for second reading

There is a part in the novel when the family is on the train and a woman keeps screaming "Fire!" How do the people react to this woman? Is this perhaps an example of foreshadowing? What do you think is going to happen?

Night- first post

In the first reading we find out a lot about Eliezer, his family and the town of Sighet where he comes from. One of the most interesting characters in this part is Martha, the Gentile ex-servant of Eliezer's family, who offers to hide the family at the risk of her own life. If you were in this situation would you be able to show as much kindness and courage as Martha did? Why or why not? How does the fact that Martha was the family's servant make this situation even more incredible?

Night - Final Post

First of all I want you to tell me why you are going to vote in a year and a half if you are eighteen. Also, what does voting have to do with this novel?

Night - post for third reading

When Eliezer and his father get to the concentration camp they see many disturbing sights. Perhaps the most disturbing is a pit where babies are being burned alive. What are the prisoners reaction to this atrocity? How did you react when you read this part of part three?
